You, and the Brain Mind Ego Illusion

The Meadowblog welcomes your comments to any of the articles posted here.

The only claim we make is that we do everything in our power to plant that seed of curiosity.

Author: By Jim Moffett

The greatest misconception about our lives is that we die at the end of it. If there is one person alive today who can prove beyond all doubt that death is final, finite, nothing more after life etc. then I'd love to meet that person. Conversely I'd like to meet the person who can prove that life also is not an illusion. Throughout history we have been conditioned to think that death comes to us all in a way that the physical body just dies. Well, I've got news for you. There is only change happening as the body which has housed you during a physical existence breaks down into something completely different. It is a chemical change forced upon the body because the bio rhythms no longer function. But the soul and mind continues. Read the following article to realise the illusion. If death was so finite, then there would be no possibility of reincarnating or multiple existences. And  "The Meadow" would be meaningless because it's all about life which shares the same illusion as death.

You, and the Brain Mind Ego Illusion

By Jim Moffett

The mind is life's most fascinating mysteries, and how little each of us knows of it, nor thinks upon it.  Yet all of whom you are, all of whom you have been, and all of whom you are still to become resides within the ether of thought as a picture in your mind.  The mind is an ongoing developmental evolution of what you believe yourself to be when posed the question, "Who am I?"  But is it the mind that offers up the response to such a question?

The brain is a function that sustains the mind's eye.  It is the control center for all data coming in and going out, collected and gathered from our senses, our emotions, and our feelings, and still, the brain is not the mind.  The mind works in the present as the brain works in the realm of the past owing to its innate ability to recall past events held storage in memory.  The brain can transverse into the future if only by the use of intellect and reason summoned up from the past.  It can formulate and project an imaginary picture of future uncertain, but it cannot know the future until it arrives and can place it in memory to become the past.

The brain is both the  hardware and the software of which it acts as its own projector upon the mind.  The mind is the living canvas to which the brain projects, where thought and picture are transported for viewing.  The mind is where the brain believes, it is what you believe.  The brain gathers, processes, sorts, files, and stores the data it collects and projects its interpretations upon the screen of the mind for viewing.

This allows for the best efforts of the brain to accept, negate, or infuse doubt upon the picture viewed by the mind, and by you.  The picture is only as accurate as the knowledge supplied, or the knowledge retrieved from memory in the absence of knowledge supplied.

The mind is therefore the thought or image you "see" in your head, with the brain acting as  processor and projector of all thought and image.  The brain absorbs the relative materials of the outside world through its own imposed filters which allow for the relevant and discards the irrelevant.  These materials consist of anything and everything that you interacted with outside of yourself.

That which the brain absorbs has in effect been placed there by anything and everything that is not you.  Yet the fascinating aspect of all this is that the brain stakes claim to something it is not, and conjures up the most convincing of all illusions, a creation as seemingly as real as the mind itself, in its creation of what you believe is you.  But you do not exist.

If you did exist, you would have been born into this world with all the skills and knowledge of who you believe you are right now at this present moment.

The you whom you believe is you is a perception of yourself that the brain has created by absorbing the outside world of anything and everything, and regurgitating it back onto the screen of the mind.  The brain uses mind as a mirror to see the reflection of its self expressed in the same manner that the brain uses the mind to see all that is expressed outside of its self in the world in which it interacts.

So how can you be you when it is the brain that creates the image of its self in masquerade of you upon the screen of the mind?

You, if such a thing should exist, are a self contained interaction that takes place in your head.  The brain carefully crafts a projection of all that it is on the inside with all that it is on the outside and skillfully weaves this to become a perception.

Perception is the tool of reality, and you believe in the image of your mind so completely that the brain has created an idol of its self to which you worship as real, and praise it as you your self.  Belief is behavior and the brain knows that as long as it can make you believe in it, you will behave in a manner that nurtures it, supports it, defends it, and protects it.

For the brain is selfish, jealous, boastful, envious, arrogant, and vain.  The brain is the master of mind, the grandest of illusionists, because it has created a perception of itself that has gotten you to believe that the brain is you.  So perfectly thought out, so magnificently executed, that the brain has created you to fulfill its desires of existence and pleasure.

The brain has hijacked you and replaced it with a copy that is so exacting, so believable,  that it has fooled even you, and yet this forgery has a name for those of you who can see it; it is called Ego.

As sly as the brain may think its self to be, it has only replaced you with a copy.  You are not your body, nor any aspect of the brain created.  You are not the anything and everything of the world outside.  You are not the illusion of the ego manifested, and yet you are still there.  You have always been there, perhaps lost in the illusion, but still there.

You share a common thread that we all possess and seem to forget.  It was with you in the womb in the early stages of your development.  It was pure in form.  It was free from the influence of observation and interpretations, having no perceptions as there was nothing to perceive.

It was the pure you without the stain of ego, a place where ego knows no existence.  It was the instant when the power switch of brain was thrown "on" and the mind came into view as a blank screen yet to be colored.  At this instant, you emerged into being, as the thought of pure consciousness, a brain as pure as snow, and a mind unadulterated.

The essence of your very existence was grounded in your very being, in a question that resonates through the reaches of time; "Why?"  This is who you are in the purest of form.

As your mother gave birth to you, you gave birth to the ego.  The singularity of your perception was of observer alone, taking in the surroundings of all events outside of yourself and filing the data in the layers of your brain.

The question "why?" was a subconscious sponge of mortal being in which it enabled you to exist in the moment, while the information absorbed flowed through the channels of the brain to be deposited into the memory sectors allocated for such.

The information network did what it was designed to do and the brain quietly, and subtly, processed it.  Those exact moments of the present, devoid of any known aspects of time, were shuffled deep into memory to be filed as images and experiences of your past.

As the layers began to build and the processing powers of the brain began to multiply exponentially, reasoning computation took hold, and the brain created an image as an evolutionary process to visualize upon the screen of the mind, a cobbled picture of what it saw, and believed, was an external world outside of itself.

The brain itself could not "see" the outside environment for it was closed off from it, in the dark, removed from interactions directly.  The brain created a means to believe it was outside of itself interacting directly with the world around it by creating and projecting an image upon the screen of the mind.

And in its illusion of unifying itself as one with the outside world, the brain separated you from it.  The separation between that which is you and that which is a brain created imitation of you,  happened at the instant the words were uttered, "Why not?"

The singularity of information taken in, became a flowing loop of information going back out that created the duality of opposing forces, "why?" and "why not?", the present and the past, up and down, left and right, yes and no, and all that followed which supported the duality of opposing construct in which the brain must have in order to believe its self outside of its self as a function of an illusionary reality in which it has bullied you into submission.

But yet you are still there, that little voice in the mind of the brain, the one that still asks "why?".  As faint as it may be at times, as ignored as the brain would like it to be, the brain cannot but hear it, and you know it, but you go on to ignore it until an undesired outcome provides discomfort or disappointment and the brain says,"I should have listened to that little voice that told me not to do this."

Some call it intuition, a "gut feeling", a "sense", or a "little voice", but what ever you believe it to be, know that this is simply you.  Greater trust can be placed in you than the illusion of the brain masquerading as you.  Remember, both of you share the same screen of the mind which views the image projected there by the brain, the brain will lie and show you what it wants you to believe.  You cannot lie, for the image you see has no ego and tells you what is.

THE MEADOW -- A SPIRITUAL ROMANCE

"The Meadow" is an epic love story unlike anything told before. The storyline threads an earthly path through four life times, from ancient Mexica to contemporary Pakistan, and affords the reader glimpses of a place known as "The Meadow" - an inter-life waterhole where souls rest between lives.

This is a story about life and all its complexities. It is about the eternal love of two characters that seem destined to be together but who repeatedly fail to bond due to a nemesis that tracks them from life to life, tearing them apart.

The stage of "The Meadow" includes hate and retribution, international espionage and political deceit, interspersed with the brilliance of an autistic savant, offspring of the female protagonist, who tries to solve the secret and mystery of the eagle in order to save his mother.

The frustrated lovers thus have only one option - to unite in the Meadow - a place they forget all about each time they incarnate into a new life.

This site is dedicated to "The Meadow", a book of more than 600 pages and has yet to be published, but it is also devoted to sharing information about life beyond the trapdoor of death, inviting the reader to question everything, from dogmatic beliefs to the establishment.

There are many related articles here and we hope that there will be something for everyone.
