The only claim we make is that we do everything in our power to plant that seed of curiosity.

The meaning of tarot cards and their uses are the most difficult of things to understand. The esoteric value is of great importance to someone who has the ability to read the tarot. Primarily it is the art of using the most spiritual aspect of who you are as a human being. This is your intuition and this author makes no claims whatsoever to having had experience. In  "The Meadow" however, there is great importance placed on any kind of communication as it focuses heavily on the connectedness of every thing and every one. In the right hands, the tarot cards can bring information. In the wrong hands, they are probably nothing more than a prop to a fortune teller.

 IS IT IN THE CARDS?

By Elfreda Pretorius

Do you want to know what the future holds? Have you wondered why you have that desire? Is it because of insecurity - is it the fragile aspect of the human spirit that seeks reassurance that all is well - and if not, then at least you would like to be informed? Many people look for answers in the stars about their future, their fortunes, and their lives. Even those who say they do not care may secretly wonder if hidden pathways in the cosmos hide information about them. Perhaps it contains information they cannot read, but perhaps a gifted one can?

It is true that for centuries humans have sought out those who said they could deliver answers to difficult questions. Kings and queens have consulted magicians and Truth Sayers since the beginning of time. And today is no different - people still want to know. So what about the Tarot? Can you trust the message in the cards? The answer probably lies in the hands of the one who reads your cards - after you have held the cards in your hands, and transferred your vibrations onto it.

Simply put - the level of expertise of the person doing your "reading" is what makes the difference. There is a great difference between "fortunetelling" and divination. An abundance of fortunetellers inhabit our planet (and although there are the rare good ones), clearly they would like to see your money end up in their pockets. But Divination differs greatly from fortunetelling. And divination is what authentic Tarot reading is all about.

If we understand that everything is merely an expression of energy, then divination through the Tarot falls into it's rightly place. A very sensitive individual can "pick up or read" your energy through the cards and interpret the meaning of the various symbols as they are laid out on the table. Such a person will intuit the hidden meanings and nuances and can accurately tell what your energy intended to communicate at that specific time.

If that person is really tuned in to the greater energy field in which we exist, the reading will flow, and he/she will not wait for signs of your approval, for the answers will not come from you, but flow from the greater energy grid. And whereas a less experienced individual might get stuck on obvious meanings of the cards and try to transfer that into your life - an adept, on the other hand, (experienced in divination) will explain your place in the bigger picture without making excuses or trying to please.

But of course, we must first grasp that all is simply energy and that intuition, as per example - known as our sixth sense - relies greatly on this subtle communication that cannot be detected with the human eye. Tarot reading, divination in particular, observes the very same energy and is equally accurate. And then there is the whole question of faith - not blind religious faith - but faith in the process of life and comprehending the incredibly refined interconnectedness of everything, which is exactly why the cards can "speak."

Elfreda co-authored her third book, "The Meadow" with Mike O'Hare - an accomplishment they are both very proud of. It is an epic love story that stretches over millennia, reaching back to ancient Mexica and stretching into contemporary Pakistan. Mike and Elfreda have just begun searching for agent representation in order to publish this epic work.

"The Meadow" is an epic love story unlike anything told before. The storyline threads an earthly path through four life times, from ancient Mexica to contemporary Pakistan, and affords the reader glimpses of a place known as "The Meadow" - an inter-life waterhole where souls rest between lives.

This is a story about life and all its complexities. It is about the eternal love of two characters that seem destined to be together but who repeatedly fail to bond due to a nemesis that tracks them from life to life, tearing them apart.

The stage of "The Meadow" includes hate and retribution, international espionage and political deceit, interspersed with the brilliance of an autistic savant, offspring of the female protagonist, who tries to solve the secret and mystery of the eagle in order to save his mother.

The frustrated lovers thus have only one option - to unite in the Meadow - a place they forget all about each time they incarnate into a new life.

This site is dedicated to "The Meadow", a book of more than 600 pages and has yet to be published, but it is also devoted to sharing information about life beyond the trapdoor of death, inviting the reader to question everything, from dogmatic beliefs to the establishment.
