Ghosts and Spirits - The Difference

The Meadowblog welcomes your comments to any of the articles posted here.

The only claim we make is that we do everything in our power to plant that seed of curiosity.

Ghosts? Who hasn't discussed ghosts sometime in during their lives? In this category you will find many diverse explanations. Until we discover what is behind the phenomenon that we call ghosts, there will be many more stories and fables regarding this subject. In my opinion, there is one thing that is for sure. A ghost is some kind of residue memory from a time gone by, a bit like how ley lines are left - by the energy of someone who has walked down familiar territory many times. A spirit is something quite different and this is the essence of who we are. To me it is the encryption that marks our soul in this dimension and can be easily carried to another dimension - a bit like our two heroes in "The Meadow."

Ghosts and Spirits - The Difference

By Hazel Ford

It is very evident when going on a ghost hunt event that there is a lot of talk about communicating with spirit. Ghosts are also mentioned but it seems that when there is activity it is the word spirit that is used. There is a very big difference between the two entities. A ghost is when the apparition is normally seen and is oblivious to any onlookers. It will behave in a habitual way and will not be impacted by any equipment or attempts to communicate with it. Basically it is unaware of our existence and is stuck in behaviour. A good way to describe it would be if you could imagine doing the same thing at the same time in the same way over a long period of time, like walking to the paper shop every morning at 7am along the same route for 30 years. It is as if the energy of that behaviour has been trapped. There are no emotions attached to it, it is almost like the re-run of a video clip that just keeps replaying. Many people who see wandering apparitions are actually seeing the ghost of somebody.

Spirits, however are a completely different kettle of fish. Spirit activity can link in with us and affect us. It can change our surroundings and make physical contact. It is the energy that is displayed rather than just the visual. Poltergeist activity, temperature changes, tapping and knocking. These are all the activities that spirit can perform. It is very confusing when we hear that spirit cannot hurt us and then we can see stones being thrown and people allegedly being taken over by spirit. If we see a ghost we are almost just bystanders on the essence of a past life being played out to us. With spirit activity we need to be much more aware and alert. For those of us who may have linked into spirit activity we know that it can be quite alarming and disturbing especially when it communicates with us intelligently. There are many thousands of books written about ghosts and spirits and in this article I just wanted to make readers aware that there is a big difference between the two and help them have a small amount of understanding when they are both being discussed within the framework of a ghost hunt event. "The Meadow" is an epic love story unlike anything told before. The storyline threads an earthly path through four life times, from ancient Mexica to contemporary Pakistan, and affords the reader glimpses of a place known as "The Meadow" - an inter-life waterhole where souls rest between lives.

This is a story about life and all its complexities. It is about the eternal love of two characters that seem destined to be together but who repeatedly fail to bond due to a nemesis that tracks them from life to life, tearing them apart.

The stage of "The Meadow" includes hate and retribution, international espionage and political deceit, interspersed with the brilliance of an autistic savant, offspring of the female protagonist, who tries to solve the secret and mystery of the eagle in order to save his mother.

The frustrated lovers thus have only one option - to unite in the Meadow - a place they forget all about each time they incarnate into a new life.

This site is dedicated to "The Meadow", a book of more than 600 pages and has yet to be published, but it is also devoted to sharing information about life beyond the trapdoor of death, inviting the reader to question everything, from dogmatic beliefs to the establishment.

There are many related articles here and we hope that there will be something for everyone.
